    This was disclosed at a high level meeting headed by Health Minister Naseer Khan Thursday, reported Online news agency. He said thousands of chicken had been found dead in various areas of Pakistani Kashmir, including Dhadiyal and Mirpur. He said investigating teams have been sent to the affected areas to find out if the death of chickens was due to bird flu.

    ISLAMABAD, Feb 23 (Online): Bird Flu Virus has reached border areas of AJK from India whereas thousands of chickens were reported to be found dead in Dhadiyal and Mirpur.

    This was disclosed in a high level meeting that was headed by Health Minister Naseer Khan on Thursday.

    He told the meeting that thousands of chickens have been found dead in various areas of AJK including Dhadiyal, Mirpur and others.

    He said that investigation teams have been sent to affected areas for investigation into Bird Flu (Avian Influenza).

    The investigation team is headed by Poultry Coordinator Dr. Khalid Naeem and will be accompanied by DG and Assistant Director livestock .

    They will investigate into the matter regarding so many chickens dying in the said areas of AJK on routine basis in view to make sure that the reason behind is bird flu or not.
