Mysterious Nursing Home Virus Sickens Dozens In NH
(CBS4) SALEM, NH New Hampshire public health officials are trying to find the cause of a mysterious virus that has made dozens of nursing home residents and workers ill in Salem.
The Salemhaven Nursing Home says 46 residents and 28 staff members got sick last week. There are a total of 238 residents and staff at the facility.
Officials suspect the Norwalk virus, a common food-borne illness.
A first round of tests was inconclusive, so the state plans new tests.
The home is limiting the number of visitors, and activities have been cancelled.
