HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - According to The Huntington County Department of Health, lab results returned Thursday indicated a 27-year-old woman died in late October of H1N1 flu related complications in Huntington, Indiana.

The Health Department said that any more information about the woman's identity will not be released for confidentiality reasons.

The Huntington County Coroner's Office said the woman did test positive for H1N1 and pulmonary emboli contributed to her death.

The Huntington Coroner reminds that any influenza can be serious, but it is essential for the public to know that in most cases H1N1 is causing only mild disease.

The HCDH also recognizes that for most cases, H1N1 influenza has been mild and recovery is expected. The health department highly recommends that high risk persons including children, pregnant women and those up to age 64 with chronic illnesses get the H1N1 vaccine. Those interested can check with a health care provider or participating local pharmacy such as Walgreens, Owens, Kmart and Redi-Med.

As of September 2009, more than 99% of circulating influenza viruses in the United States are 2009 H1N1.
