No. of flu patients drops significantly

The number of newly reported influenza patients nationwide in the week through Sunday was 150,000, marking a significant drop from 190,000 in the previous week, a government tally showed Thursday.
The average number of flu patients per medical institution came down to about 31 from 39.63 in the previous week, according to the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry. Most of them are believed to be cases of the new H1N1 strain of influenza A, and the ministry is trying to determine if the number of infections has passed its peak.
