    The Central District Health Department reported on Friday that a group of people within the district acquired dengue fever while visiting Haiti.

    The district serves Hall, Hamilton and Merrick counties.

    The travelers are all right, said Jeremy Collinson, environmental health supervisor for the department. He said dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is only transmitted by an infected mosquito. Infection of dengue is not transmitted from person to person.
