Here we are 2 years later……
Now we are viewed by over 140 countries monthly. We have members who take the information created and collected here by you and disseminate it to many in the world through their contacts.
We are the future. Now. The embodiment of power in the hands of the common people.
This “new media” and communication age have given us this opportunity. As we sit in our living rooms, cubicles, workshops, kitchens, and basements and interact here, we are changing the delivery of public health services. We are read by international and national organizations and governments all over the world who have the power in their hands to effectuate policy that influences the lives of, not just millions, but billions, of people.
We ask that you use your power to improve the lives of your citizens with the information that you gather here. Public health is not a privilege for a special few, it is a right earned by birth. Clean drinking water and sanitary disposal facilities are not conveniences. These are essential to sustain life.
“We are as strong as our weakest link.”
If we can feed the world, we must.
If we can produce treatment and cures, we must distribute.
If we have the ability to help the disadvantaged among us, we will.
In every day, in every moment that we live, there is a tomorrow. It is filled with the hope and promise and wishes for our purpose. As long as we breathe we are able to make a difference.
If not today, then tomorrow.
It is this sense of purpose and determination to persevere that enriches our souls. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” included a story about a 72 year-old black woman who walked a long distance every day during a bus boycott. She was tired, but when asked why she continued to support the non-violent protest, she responded:
“My feets is tired, but my soul is at rest.”
Thank you for participating in this experiment. In this collaborative effort to help, literally, the world. This has been an adventure in uncharted territory. We have answered the question:
Can a group of like-minded individuals, who have never met, who are not physically near each other, who speak many different languages and dialects, of many different races and cultures, from all socio-economic strata, together deliver hope for the future?
We have answered that question with this site. Look into the body and see the spirit.
“Aviation combined all the elements I loved. There was science in each curve of an airfoil, in the gap of a spark plug or the color of the exhaust flame. A pilot was surrounded by beauty of earth and sky. He brushed treetops with the birds, leapt valleys and rivers, explored the cloud canyons he had gazed at as a child. Adventure lay in each puff of wind.” -Charles Lindbergh
I am blessed to work among you.
