"Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again"
Yusef Islam - Peace Train
As we approach a very important election in the United States I would like to thank all members for respecting the non-political policy at Flu Trackers.
We are a microcosm of the world. We are from many different cultures, languages, races, and peoples.
It is a matter of respect and tolerance.
It is the hope of the future. It is working toward a common goal - to help lessen morbidity and mortality - that we seek.
This commonality of purpose unites us through all differences. It is a common spirit.
A spirit that flourishes in good times and bad. A belief that while we are only individual citizens of the world living under different regimes - we can collectively make a difference.
That no matter what rule of law we live under, our belief in the human spirit will overcome the tide of power that engulfs us all.
That peace is challenged by events but a strength lies within each of us to reach out to embrace this challenge.
"World peace through nonviolent means is neither absurd nor unattainable. All other methods have failed. Thus we must begin anew. Nonviolence is a good starting point. Those of us who believe in this method can be voices of reason, sanity, and understanding amid the voices of violence, hatred, and emotion. We can very well set a mood of peace out of which a system of peace can be built."
