  • New Site Features!

I am very pleased to announce that we have installed new features at FT!

We now have a side panel that shows the Current News (in English), Latest Threads, Featured Video, and Financial Charts.

In the next 2 days we are adding Current News in French and Italian.

Also we have installed a chat room for members of FT. To access room, click on the "Chat" button on the blue bar.

Thank to Sally and Mod Tech for the many hours spent on these projects!

Please post any problems and comments on this thread about the new features.

    Thanks!

          Re: New Site Features!

Nice job!! Thanks for chat and the other features.

I've been having a horizontal scroll problem that Sally tried to hlep me with; but I cannot get it figured out. It doesn't matter if I use IE or Firefox. Since I usually have a couple of windows open, I like shrink them down an inch or more. In the past, the FT pages have shrunk to fit within the window. For some reason, now the pages won't shrink and I either have to have the window almost fully expanded or use the scroll bar to be able to view the posts.

However, in the reply area, the FT window will shrink to fit but the front page and others will not. I haven't changed any of my settings or resolution since I originally set them last year and I have a 19" non-widescreen monitor.

Is anyone else having this problem?

There is no established schedule. You can use it anytime.

Hello mixin. I experienced/ing the same.

Sometime ago it starts like the actual viewing.

It is frustrating, because it must be rolled left-right to read an sentence.

I don't want to resize the PC resolution to view wider with smaller fonts, so it remains.

It would be a good thing to turn back the previous site display setting, so it can be seen completely the fixed thread page at 800x600 pixels of PC display settings also.

                        Re: New Site Features!

Instead to open several windows of your browser, you can try to open ''tabs'' - all are the same size -; this is a useful features of most recent version of both IE and Firefox/Mozilla/Flock browsers.

Tabs are full functioning browsers and serve as independent application as multi windows...

                          #12: "... tabs"

The problem remains the same (IE window was already full sized).

                            Re: New Site Features!

I keep all the windows reduced because they're easier to read than when they are at full screen. Pictures, tables and such are about the only time I expand the frame.

IE has tabs at the bottom, but once I exceed a certain number of them, then the individual ones merge into one.

I tend to think the problem at FT is a slight formatting thing since some of the areas will shrink and others will not.

I suggest FT to shrink back the max. sentence lenght to a number of words characters than can fit all into an 800x600 display resolution, so no left-right moving for those who want to read augmented char.

                              P.S.
Yes, good work as T./L., etc said indeed.
If it can shrink more, better, if not, no matter.
