I have a sump pump which runs on AC, but in the event of a power outage uses a battery which ensures that water continues to drain. It's Springtime, and naturally it rains a lot, which means the pump is cycling.
You might have placed your backup supplies in your basement close to the sump pump area. In the event of a power failure, would you have a way of powering your sump pump to prevent basement flooding?
You might consider checking your system. I have one solar backup generator in place for my radio, rechargeable batteries, and laptop, and I have a 2nd solar panel in order to trickle charge one battery in the event of issue with the sump pump power supply. Think of what mess you could have if the pump fails.
