2 more NYC swine flu deaths

    Associated Press - June 23, 2009 2:45 PM ET

NEW YORK (AP) - Two more swine flu deaths have been confirmed in New York City, bringing the total to 32 since the outbreak began in April.

The Health Department posted the updated total on its Web site Tuesday.

The city has refused to release details on swine flu victims. The only information released on the two newest deaths was that they were people between the ages of 25 and 65.

    804 hospitalizations, 32 deaths, next update 1.July
    refused to release details

do they have trouble with the press or is it strategy ?

do they say, why they refuse it ? Do we think they are hiding something ?

I can't speak for NY, but here in my county we get just about no information on hospitalizations or deaths. This practice has been in place for probably 10 years or more.

We used to know the names and addresses of people who needed an ambulance; but that was discontinued due to privacy issues.

Causes of death are no longer listed in the obituaries. We're not told if the person committed suicide.

We were told absolutely no details about the 2 influenza cases here in Elkhart County, other than the fact that there were 2 and they were recovering.
