Syria confirms first H1N1 flu death

DAMASCUS, Aug 27 (Reuters) - Syria's Health Ministry has confirmed the country's first death from the H1N1 influenza virus.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Wednesday quoted the Health Ministry as saying a Syrian man had died of the strain.
It added that the 25 other recorded cases of people in Syria infected by the virus had all recovered.
The H1N1 swine flu virus was first seen in March in Mexico and California. Experts say at least 1 million people have been infected in the United States alone.
