Doctor thought to have swine flu dies

UITENHAGE hospital superintendent Dr Tommy Ruiters, reported to have been a victim of swine flu last month, has died.
Ruiters, a senior superintendent at the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital, died on Saturday night after he was admitted to Cuyler Hospital almost a month ago with pneumonia.
It was reported after he had been in hospital a few days that he had swine flu.
Cuyler Hospital marketing officer Andre van der Merwe said they could not confirm whether Ruiters, 52, had died of the H1N1 virus.
?He was in the intensive care unit for weeks before his death on Saturday.?
Eastern Cape health spokesman Sizwe Kupelo declined to comment.
