13-year-old child dies of H1N1 flu
The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) yesterday announced the fourth H1N1 flu death in Qatar. An official source at the SCH said that a 13-year-old Iranian resident, who suffered from Down syndrome, fever, cough and shortness of breath and was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday night. This is the first death recorded among children in Qatar, as all previous cases were for adults. The SCH called upon all residents to report to the nearest health center in case of suspected symptoms. The council also called upon citizens and residents to get vaccination against seasonal influenza as well as vaccination against swine flu once it is provided by the State.
