</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Iranian Health officials have reported 19 new student cases of A/H1N1 in Tehran townships, resulting in the closure of 270 classrooms in the province.
According to the head of the Tehran Education Organization, Seyyed Ali Yazdikhah, more than 31 students have already tested positive for swine flu in Tehran townships. Some six students were also reported to be infected with the flu virus in Tehran.
He added that of the 19 new cases identified in the past week, 12 students are still in hospital.
While expressing his concern over the issue, Yazdikhah stressed that no school had yet been closed because of swine flu in the city of Tehran.
He added that some 10 schools in Babol had been closed over A/H1N1 fears in the past week, adding that 8 percent of students in the eastern parts of the country had been absent from class due to seasonal flu.
He stressed that the definite number of infected students particularly in the center and south of the country had yet to be revealed.
Yazdikhah said that the education ministry does not provide definite statistics on the number of infected students despite the growing number of cases.
Latest figures have revealed some 515 new cases of swine flu in the country, bringing Iran's total tally to 2,153 including 33 deaths. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
