    Concern in Cambodia by mass deaths of ducks

    02 of February 2010, 00:11Phnom Penh, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) Authorities in Cambodia today investigating the sudden death of 10 thousand ducks for reasons still unknown in a southern town with a history of bird flu.

    The Director of Animal Production Ministry of Agriculture, Kao Phal, adding that another 30 thousand ducks fell ill in Takeo province, with no human casualties are reported yet.

    The official declined to venture a possible cause of mass deaths, but in Cambodia have been previously reported cases of avian influenza and influenza A (H1N1).

    The concern about a possible outbreak of bird flu is a constant in Southeast Asia, the region hardest hit by the pandemic, reappeared in 2003.
