Sick-leave Britain as one million set to fall ill with winter vomiting bug that has spread into spring

Up to one million Britons are expected to fall ill with the winter vomiting bug before the summer as experts today revealed that cases are soaring.
Record numbers of people are expected to contract the norovirus as the rate of new infections has so far outstripped the winter of 2007/08 - the worst outbreak to date.
The Health Protection Agency claims the number of people catching the bug could soar past a million as people displaying symptoms do not go to their doctor.
Ironically, the cold winter - often thought to kill off illnesses - may be to blame for the widespread outbreak as people stayed indoors where the germs were more easily passed from one person to another.
