    In recent years, animal disease situation, the growing poultry has caused huge damage to agricultural production in general Quang Ngai province, in particular the livestock industry, especially in the rainy season, floods. According to the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Environment - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, from now through 12/2010, Central High temperatures can lower the average of many years, ranging between 18 - 20oC; rainfall coastal South Central likely higher than average for many years from 200-400 mm and in the last months of the lunar calendar in 2010 with several waves of cold air, rain and cold pull long, very detrimental to production and animal husbandry. To proactively prevent natural disasters, diseases of cattle and poultry during the flood season in 2010, especially the last months of the Lunar New Year and New Tip; Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai People's Committee proposed districts and City promptly direct implementation of the following:

    1. Written to direct and guide people's committees of communes, wards and townships (called communes) to urgently implement measures to prevent, combat hunger, cold and disease for livestock and poultry according to instructions of agriculture, animal health agency Construction plans for prevention of hunger and cold, diseases of cattle and poultry during the flood season in 2010, actively funding from local budgets for timely assistance to farmers for damage after a disaster, disease outbreak.

    2. Using the mass media system of the district, the basis for timely notification weather, storms, epidemic diseases and other preventive measures in time for farmers to apply handling the situations detrimental to the livestock and poultry. Propagation and guiding people to make vaccination a full range of preventive vaccines for livestock and poultry industries in accordance with veterinary regular hygiene, toxic, disinfecting cages, animal husbandry sector prevention of diseases of cattle and poultry during the rainy season.

    3. Establish working groups of communes and villages to monitor the situation and coordinating with local government guidelines farmers measures to combat hunger, cold and disease for livestock, especially poultry cattle by any form with all available resources in place in which paying attention to the following technical measures:

    - To consolidate, upgrade and shield barn raising cattle to ensure against rain, cold, and no free ranging cattle in the forest, bringing cattle in captivity in cages for easy care and disease monitoring .

    - Allocation of land planted with grass, straw collection, waste agricultural byproducts as feed stocks for cattle during the rainy season.

    - When the rain and cold lasts, the cattle off work, locked in cages using food sources available locally such as straw, grass, leaf buds of sugarcane silage, banana trees, leaves forest and refined foods such as bran, rice, corn, fresh cassava porridge supplement cattle feed in the barn; to drink warm water with salt added to warm to dilute bovine.
    4. Officer assigned to the area directly inspect and guide farmers to manage, care and nurture of good cattle and poultry, especially livestock and poultry breeds by the programs, projects from the area, minimize the damage that may occur due to floods, hunger and cold.

    It is not clear if information will also be released through official websites. The status of avian influenza on the Department of Animal Health website has not been updated since 23/July/2010
