Outstanding resource (along with the other threads you posted this evening).
Thank you

Thought has a dual purpose in ethics: to affirm life, and to lead from ethical impulses to a rational course of action - Teaching Reverence for Life -Albert Schweitzer. JT
I read part of these resources and while they sound great, where are the counselors to provide "intervention" for the millions of people who will need it? People can't "leave New Orleans" or "turn of the TV" to get away from a pandemic - it will be all around them with no place to "get away."

As with food, shelter, water, meds, we're just going to have to do the best we can for and with each other.
It helps to have resources and knowledge of what might be expected. I will pass these links along to friends. Perhaps they will pass them to their friends and family.
As with the rest of this looming threat, we're snowshoeing across uncharted terrain.
I have no doubt that the people creating these powerpoints and websites have the same knowledge of the grim possibilities that we have. From my perspective, we simply carry on doing what needs to be done so that we can be as ready as possible. One person, one family, extended family and neighborhood, town, community, county.
We can do the best we can do, what we're called to do. If not us, then who?

What a great motto! You should add it to your signature line.
Thank you, colormyquilt. We can use all the resources we can get!
"In the beginning of change, the patriot is a scarce man (or womanhttps://flutrackers.com/forum/core/i...ilies/wink.png), and brave, and hated and scorned. I think the question is a good question and a fair question. I don't know there will be counselors enough. Even down the road, on the other side of the pandemic, I don't know there will be enough. I am hoping, by getting a little bit of information out, that there will be good and caring people who will be able to use it the best they can where they are. If that is the best that we have as we head into the pandemic, then that can be alot. It is not necessarily true that only a good counselor can provide support/ assistance to those being challenged emotionally/ psychologically. Some of the wisest and more empathetic people I have known did not have counseling degrees next to their name. They figure out life as they go through it. They ask for help when they need it. They offer help where they can. You are right- we will not be able to turn off the TV or move to a different locale. That is why it is so urgent that we prepare now the very best that we can. Because unless this virus wears itself out, then it is going to be a monster of a beast.
I think we will all have questions. We need to know our limits. We need to know how to take care of ourselves. I don't believe there is any blueprint going into this one. However, there are powerful resources here on FT. Who have abundantly shown their commitment and dedication.
