    Boy died of influenza

    Published 13/01/2011

A boy between 10 and 20 years from Akershus has died of the seasonal flu. Public Health encourages other flu patients to seek medical advice.

    - For most people flu is a mild or moderate disease. Unfortunately, some fall seriously ill and some die. This applies even if you do not belong to one of the risk groups, "says Geir Stene-Larsen at the NIPH .

The boy from Akershus did not belong to any of the risk groups for severe influenza disease.

Public Health encourages other flu patients to seek medical advice immediately if the patient has signs of being dried up, throwing up or have trouble keeping on drinking or breathing strained.

One should call the emercency phonenumber 113 if the patient breathes heavily, has chest pain, has a bluish color to lips or has seizures with convulsions.
