A post mortem has confirmed the cause of Albert Yator?s death. Yator, the 17-year-old Kenyan steeplechaser who passed away last weekend, died from ?pulmonary failure due to bronchopneumonia?.
The post mortem was carried out by pathologist Dr David K Chumba at Eldoret Hospital. Yator was admitted there last week after it was believed he was suffering from malaria, but his condition soon deteriorated. Bronchopneumonia is a type of pneumonia whereby the walls of the bronchioles become acutely inflamed.
