The number of deaths in Hungary related to types of the influenza virus has reached 48, the country's health authority (ANTSZ) said on Wednesday.
The number of fatalities connected with flu has risen by 13 over the past week, the authority added in a statement.
The overwhelming majority of deaths were associated with the contraction of A-H1N1 while influenza B was implicated in only three deaths, it added.
The ANTSZ said 80 percent of the victims had already been suffering from a serious illness.
