CT Obit: Died 3/06/11 of flu and pneumonia; M, 62 yrs.
CROSS, NORMAN CAMPBELL, JR. Norman Campbell Cross, Jr. died suddenly on Sunday, March 6, 2011 in New Haven, CT from Influenza and Pneumonia...
It's these sudden deaths that suggest pH1N1. The isolates chart in CT indicate that they've had more than just a couple of pH1N1 cases since Week 5. And, although the total number of positive flu samples and %ILI are decreasing, the relative percentage of pH1N1 to H3N2 and Flu B is increasing.
Re: CT Obit: Died 3/06/11 of flu and pneumonia; M, 62 yrs.
From CT website for week 10:
• There have been 13 fatal influenza-associated infections among residents of Fairfield (4), New Haven (4), Hartford (3), Litchfield (1), and Windham (1) counties including
4 patients with Type A (H1N1), 2 with Type A (H3N2) novel, 6 with Type A unspecified, and 1 with Type B; the patients were all over 50 years of age (median age = 83 years).
