Clinicians should avoid "retraumatising" frontline workers and children in disaster zones, psychologists studying the Christchurch earthquakes say.
More than 300 psychologists and scientists are at the New Zealand Psychological Society annual conference in Queenstown.
Kapiti Coast clinical psychologist Richard Sawrey told delegates about post-disaster work with children and families during the aftermath of the September 2009 tsunami in Samoa and the Christchurch quakes.
