Flu-related deaths in Pennsylvania shot upward during the week ending Jan. 5, the most recent period available.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health said there were 18 flu-related deaths during the week, bringing the state total for the 2012-2013 flu season to 22. Most involved people who were 65 and older...
