  • Mycoplasma vaccination may activate PCV2 vaccine virus

    http://www.3trzy3.pl/cirkowirus_%C5%...cv2-i-mhyo_70/

This is a rough translation, but I think they suspect that the adjuvant in the vaccine is stimulating the immune system too much when given at the same time as PCV2 vaccine. Spacing the vaccines out seems to improve outcome.

    Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2)
Co-infection with PCV2 vaccination and at the same time and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is one of the most important from an economic standpoint microorganisms. This small, common to the virus is considered to be an essential component for a number of diseases known etiologic as a disease associated with porcine circovirus (PCVD). Among these diseases are the most important multi-organ infection of PCV2 (PCV2-SD, formerly known as poodsadzeniowy, multiorgan syndrome crippling - PMWS). Although infection with PCV2 is necessary to induce symptoms and changes necropsy and microscopic PCV2-SD (Fig. 1), the call is made easier if infected animals are also other microbes. One of these microorganisms is Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Mhyo). Mhyo is a major etiological agent of enzootic pneumonia, chronic respiratory disease that affects mainly piglets and fattening pigs. Microscopic changes observed indicate bronchopneumonia and interstitial pneumonia with lymphoid hyperplasia associated with the bronchi (BALT) (Fig. 2). Together with other pathogens, including PCV2 Mhyo plays a major role in causing respiratory syndrome of pigs (PRDC). It is obvious that the diagnosis and control of interaction between the two pathogens is of utmost importance for swine producers and veterinarians worldwide.

Potencjonowanie changes caused by PCV2 was also attributed to the stimulation of the immune system. Vaccination against Mhyo was identified as one of the factors that stimulate the replication of PCV2. In addition, this stimulation was assigned a adjuwantom not acting alone vaccine antigen. In order to avoid a possible stimulation of replication of PCV2 vaccination is proposed Mhyo before infection with PCV2. Results of the experiments showed that immunization with Mhyo from 2 to 4 weeks against PCV2 infection does not cause symptoms of PCV2-SD.

Vaccination strategy against these two pathogens evolved in a similar manner, from twice immunization for vaccination with one dose. The fact that vaccination against PCV2 and Mhyo may take place at the same time, it is doubtful whether these two vaccines can be administered simultaneously or in a single dose. The strategy of a single dose reduces the workload and stress animals. In the case of such a decision, the effectiveness of the two vaccines used at the same time should be reassessed. Currently there is no scientific publications showing the differences in the efficiency of vaccination simultaneously in two or in one injection.
