BULLETIN SE 11-2012
In EW 11, the reporting of Weekly Schedule TSI showed an increase of 20%
with respect to the SE 10. Sentinel Surveillance in the proportion of ILI consultations per
ILI accounted for 4.5% this week. The proportions of hospitalizations and deaths by
SARI remain below 2%. According to laboratory data, in the SE 11,
Adenovirus-positive samples identified and Influenza A H3 in monitoring
Sentinel.
Status of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI). Notifications registered

Up the epidemiological week 11
As recorded in Schedule Weekly Notifiable, consultations for
TSI SE accumulated to 11 (03/17/2012) amount to 41,711 notifications
corresponding to this week, 5,568 consultations for ILI, which represents a rate
incidence of 84.9 per 100,000 people across the country, in all ages,
representing an increase of 20% compared to the SE 10. (Table 1)
Of the 18 health regions 15 showed an increase over a week
above. Conception, Guaira, Caazap?, Amambay and Alto Paraguay presented a
increase of over 50%, KwaZulu-Natal, Canindey? and Assumption of greater than 20%. In San
Pedro, Cordillera, Itap?a, Paraguar? Missions and the increase was greater than 10% and, among
1 and 5% increase occurred in the Central Region and President Hayes.

Proportion of Hospitalized, ICU and Income to deaths by SARI.
With respect to the proportion of hospitalizations for SARI between hospitalizations for all causes in Week 11 (1%) remained the same as the previous week (0.9%). The proportion of income between SARI ICU admissions to ICU from all causes presented this week (6.5%) a decrease of 11.4% compared with the previous week (17.9%). The proportion of deaths from SARI among the dead from all causes this week remains below 2%. (Figure 5).

Ratio Risk Factors and vaccination status.
Of all patients hospitalized for SARI 26.2% had one or more
comorbidities and / or risk factors. The most frequent disease
cardiac (45%), chronic respiratory diseases (27.5%), diabetes (16.2%) and
asthma (15%). Less than 10% of reported cases of SARI reported having received
Influenza vaccine for the 2010-2011 season and less than 2% received
oseltamivir therapy. (Table 1). So far this year, total fatal cases
reported in accumulated SARI Surveillance add 20.
