وقد شهدت مصر الأسبوع الماضي أربع حالات وفاة بشرية بالفيروس في أقل من أسبوع في أماكن متفرقة من الجمهورية، ليرتفع بذلك عدد الوفيات بهذا المرض إلى 19 مواطناً مصرياً من إجمالى 43 شخصاً أصيبوا بالمرض من ظهوره فى مصر فى مارس 2006.

وأعلن أمين أباظة وزير الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي ، عن قيام وزارته بدراسة لتحديد أنواع الأمصال واللقاحات التي تقوم الشركات باستيرادها من الخارج، وتحديد شروط جديدة تلتزم بها الشركات الخاصة عند استيراد الأمصال المضادة لمرض أنفلونزا الطيور.
