The girl is ready to go home, she has to wait till the testresults come back.

The patient "HAP" doesn't need artificial aids anymore

After a week got the maintenance in the room of the isolation of RSUP M. Djamil Padang, the patient suspect bird flu had the initials HAP (15 months) experienced the pleasing development.

At this time all the medical implements that wound around the pre-school body from Bungus have begun to be released, even so with the temperature of his body gradually got normal.

Till at this time the medical team of RSUP M.Djamil Padang was still being waiting for results of the sample test of blood that was sent to Balitbang Department of Health some time before.

Praise the Lord the condition for the patient continued to experience the development.

The patient no longer uses oxygen because breathless that was experienced by him gradually recovered.

Even so with sounde that could be used for several days at this time also was pulled out, the patient could swallow personally his food, said the Head of the Pelayanan Medik Field RSUP M. Djamil Padang, Irayanti to Padang Ekspres in his office, yesterday.

Moreover the infusion as the place memasukan medicine for the patient, also no longer is used so as Putra the Epi Bachelor from Bungus this began to be moving free.

Till at this time HAP was still continuing to get the maintenance in the room of the Irna C Penyakit Dalam isolation.

Despite generally began to improve, but the condition for the patient's body did not yet recover the total.

Moreover till at this time results of the sample of blood that was sent to Balitbang Department of Health last week, still not in received the medical team.

Be based on protap the handling of the patient suspect bird flu, a patient was just permitted to come home if results of the PCR test were stated by the negative.

Irayanti mngatakan till at this time his side still could not confirm when results of this PCR test went out.

Was based on the experience beforehand, if results of this PCR test are positive, usually in the near future the Balitbang side immediately informed as quickly as possible, in fact through the telephone.

Whereas if results of the negative, usually indeed rather old his inspection, the possibility of confirming these results were negative.

However Irayanti not dared to predicted whether HAP the negative contracted bird flu, because this matter must be based on the PCR test.

We just wait results of Balitbang, I not dared to predicted, but definitely we hoped results of the negative, he explained.

This year in Riau: 32 suspects, NO positives.

After several human infections last year, including suspected cluster(s), the Health Service changed the procedures, checking more patients sooner and at local Health Centres, which means more suspects, than before.

From other sources we learned that suspect patients are treated with Tamiflu at the local Health Centre. If their condition does not improve, they are reconciled to a bird flu hospital. In this way doctors can start proper treatment faster. And in this way you do not have many positives.

Comment of the Head of the Health Service: the number of suspects from all over Riau is indicating that bird flu is widespread in poultry in Riau.

For 2008, 32 cases Suspect Bird Flu in Riau

During January till this May 2008, Dinas Kesehatan of the Riau Province recorded found as many as 32 patients that suffered suspect bird flu.

Thes patients were spread in 11 regencies/the available cities in Riau.

That was revealed by the Sub Head of the Pelayanan Health Service of the Community and the Service of Health and Food of the Riau Province, Burhanuddin Agung to this Newspaper, on Monday (16/6).

"The 32 cases were found in the hospital that was spread in the regency/the city."

After through the process of the inspection of not having even one patients who was stated positive bird flu, said Burhanuddin.

He explained, the number of cases suspec that was found by the health service because of a different procedure of handling bird flu than in from years beforehand.

In the year beforehand, each patient that suspect must be reconciled to the Daerah Public Hospital (RSUD) Arifin Ahmad so as not all of them had data collected on it.

This year, apart from must be reconciled to RSUD Arifin Ahmad, the official was also required to carry out observation in the community health centre or the available hospital in the regency/the city where the patient suspect was found.

If being found by signs of bird flu then just was given by reconciliation to to RSUD. Still the number of cases that was found, according to Burhannuddin indicated the problem of positive bird flu to the poultry still many in the middle of the community.

"So was asked by the community to be on the alert to prevent the occurrence" of the "spread to humankind."

To do not there are those that died, appealed Burhan.

Nevertheless, Diskes has made an effort to carry out the handling that was exact and fast in the hospital against the patient who had the clinical sign resembled bird flu.

The handling of the fast and exact patient could lower the risk of the death.

My take of this report on the 3 yo girl RN in Bandung Hospital: doctor says it is too soon to call a positive or a negative. First result is back, however we need 3 testresults.

Local tests need to be confirmed by testsresults from National Lab of Dep of Health.

</td> </tr> </tbody></table> JAKARTA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Healthy Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said that in the last six months the number of cases of bird flu on human beings in Indonesia had declined significantly.
In the beginning of the second semester of 2008, the number of the bird flu cases on human beings had dropped, and the number has even reached the lowest compared with those in 2005, 2006 and 2007,the Antara news agency on Thursday quoted the minister as saying in Medan, capital of North Sumatra province.
The main cause of the decline in the bird flu cases on human beings is the fact that people have now become increasingly aware that one should do something as soon as he or she found out that he or she had the symptoms of being affected with this fatal virus Supari said on Wednesday.
At present each regional administration has a guidebook on bird flu for distribution to all layers of the society.
"Thank God, we already have a handbook on bird flu, and we also have the support from some other countries, including Australia, Germany, India, and China," she said.
Bird flu, which started in Indonesia in 2003, has killed 109 people in the country, making it the most affected country by bird flu in the world.
