    Discovery of the 104 case of bird flu

    Ministry of Health announced the discovery of new human case of avian flu to the old man 53 years of Shubra El-Qalubia, bringing the total number of cases 104 cases since the onset of the disease in Egypt.

    وأكدت وزارة الصحة أن التاريخ المرضى للحالة يؤكد دخوله مستشفى النيل للتأمين الصحى يوم 27 فبراير الحالى وهو يعانى من ارتفاع فى درجة الحرارة وسعال ورشح والتهاب صدر مزمن، بالإضافة إلى التهاب رئوى أيسر وذلك عقب تعرضه لطيور يشتبه فى إصابتها بمرض أنفلونزا الطيور، وقد تم إعطائه عقار "التاميفلو"، وتحويله إلى مستشفى صدر العباسية بالقاهرة وحالته الصحية حرجة.

      The ministry said in a statement late on Saturday that the new death of a man from Qalyoubia province, at the age of 52 years.

        أعلنت وزارة الصحة فى بيان لها فى 6 / 3 / 2010، عن حالة وفاة جديدة بأنفلونزا الطيور ليصل إجمالي الحالات منذ ظهور المرض فى مصر وحتى الآن إلى 31 حالة.
        The Ministry of Health said in a statement in 6 / 3 / 2010, on the status of new deaths from bird flu, bringing the total cases since the disease appeared in Egypt and so far 31 cases.
        وأوضحت الوزارة - فى بيانها - أن الحالة لرجل يبلغ من العمر 52 عاما وتعتبر هذه حالة الوفاة الرابعة بأنفلونزا الطيور خلال 2010 .
        The ministry pointed out - in its statement - that the situation of a man aged 52 years and is the fourth death from bird flu in 2010.

          I believe the date on the article at Post #8 is incorrect, as is stated on Post #10. The Health Ministry made his statement on March 6th.

            I have not updated my chart to include this information because I think this death could be case #104 which would be the 5th death this year and not a new case #105:

              Yes, I have updated my list and added to Case #104. And it is the 5th death this year.

                OK sorry,I worked very late today just getting on-line now.

                yes its the fifth fatal case this year based on the collective information.

                The ministry of health has released a report for the 6th of march 2010.

                it add one new suspect case for the same date with no new positive cases being shown within this report. the suspect case total as of the 6th, March is 11,520.

                case number 104 was the only case which was shown as still under going treatment in the previous report within any of the 29 governorates.

                it does show under the Cairo governorate, one new fatality being added for the 6th. which raised the total deaths for Cairo to seventeen cases.the total of recovered cases remains at 56 with a total of only four positive cases for this governorate. the total suspect case count for the governorate has been increased by two cases over the last three days. none of which are shown as testing positive.

                the report includes the following totals cumulative since 2006.
                104 total positive cases
                31 fatal
                73 recovered

                      Farmer's graph in post #24 is interesting. Although the numbers are small, there was a peak in H5N1 infections in Egypt in May, 2009, just about the time that first wave of H1N1 was occurring. Perhaps just a coincidence.
