The percent of positive samples continues to increase. All samples submitted to CDC from Louisiana for subtyping have been the H3 virus that matches the component of the 2012-2013 Northern Hemisphere.

An influenza B specimen submitted for characterization belonged to the B/Victoria lineage which was the 2011-2012 B component of the Northern Hemisphere vaccine formulation. The 2012-2013 formulation is from the B/Yamagata lineage.
