Dallas, February 5 .- About 12 million vaccines against human influenza expire on February 15, months ahead of schedule by its manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur, warned the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) United States.
In a health alert, the CDC noted that the shelf life of vaccines has been reduced because they lose their potency faster than expected, according to the screening tests quality undertaken by the manufacturer.
The CDC said that there are no concerns or security risks with these doses against influenza A/H1N1.
Sanofi Pasteur notified the CDC about 50 lots containing about 12 million vaccines should be applied before February 15 in order to ensure The vaccine is used while still maintaining the specified power.
Unable to apply the vaccine before it expires, Sanofi Pasteur said it will accept the return of the same.
