    Another four cases of infection with West Nile virus were confirmed in Romania, according to data compiled by the Ministry of Health National Center for Communicable Disease Surveillance and Control and the outcome of laboratory tests from the National Research and Development Institute Cantacuzino.

    It was recorded and a new death.



    ? The number of cases of West Nile confirmed the figure currently stands at 38 and 4 deaths


    The four confirmed cases of West Nile infection were counties of Sibiu (1 case), Constance (1 case), Mures (1 case) and White (1 case).

    The patient died in Constanta County. This is a woman of 60 years, hospitalized in serious condition, who had associated chronic diseases: hypertension and stroke sequelae.



    The situation with West Nile disease cases, by county is as follows:

      Romania Registers 41 Cases Of West Nile Virus Infection

      Romania has reported three new cases of infection with the West Nile virus and the total number of people affected by the virus reached 41, the Health Ministry said Monday.

      Three cases of West Nile virus infections were reported in capital Bucharest (two cases) and in the northwestern city of Cluj (one case).

      Official data reveal that no deaths have been registered since last week, when the Health Ministry said four people died from infections with the mosquito-borne West Nile virus.


      Romania has reported three new cases of infection with the West Nile virus and the total number of people affected by the virus reached 41, the Health Ministry said Monday.
