AHORE: At least 100 new cases were reported in the Punjab during the last 24 hours. According to health department officials, at least 188 deaths have been reported so far while most deaths occurred in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan , Kasur and Sialkot...
Ten more measles cases have been reported in the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Rawalpindi, while a general rise in measles cases have been witnessed throughout the city.
Approximately, 634 measles affected children were brought to HFH, out of which 435 were admitted and kept in isolation wards. However, only ten children now remain and are under treatment in the hospital...

28 new measles cases reported
LAHORE: With 28 new cases reported between Monday and Tuesday, the number of measles cases in Punjab in the last seven months has reached 22,944.
According to health department officials, at least 192 deaths have been reported so far while most deaths occured in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur and Sialkot.
Around 28 cases of measles were reported from Punjab, including only three from city hospitals on Tuesday...

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has witnessed an increase in number of measles cases, especially in 2012 and 2013.
According to a report of World Health Organisation (WHO), in 2012 the number of confirmed cases of measles was 8,048. In 2013, the number of cases confirmed through July was 5,740. Local sources report much higher numbers, claiming that more than 20,000 people have contracted measles, with 200 dying of the disease...

MONITORING DESK LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday lashed out the Punjab government for its continued failure in submitting an inquiry report prepared by a three-member committee headed by Dr Zafar Iqbal, Principal Sheikh Zayed Hospital, into alleged failure of the government to control recent outbreak of measles, Local TV reported.
While hearing the measles case here, the court expressing its extreme displeasure over non-submission of the measles inquiry report observed that the people were dying of measles while the Punjab chief minister untouched by the tragedy sitting with the report...

An inquiry committee of the Punjab Home Department has exposed inherent contradictions in the anti-measles immunization campaign resulting in 146 casualties in Punjab this year as the vulnerable population failed to attain the desired herd immunity despite official claims of achieving 100 per cent coverage against the disease.
