    How many other countries are similarly prepared to apply HCW resources in this fashion? No country needs a Katrina (non) response.

      I don't think that the number of HCWs that are applied to a particular situation is important, it is a question of the quality of the surveillance and testing.

        I posted a story here on FT that at another recent outbreak, the medics didnt even have enough thermometers to check the people and the ones they had, didn't work. I personally don't hold any trust they can check that many people in a reasonable amount of time..nor do I think they all have handy phones or viable roads to travel on...after all India has reported NO human infections..something else I find hard to believe

          Culling begins in Punding

          SILIGURI, Feb. 26: Culling operation started today at the Punding forest villages in Kurseong sub-division in Darjeeling district. By evening, around 500 birds were slaughtered whereas the culling target is around 2100. According to the district official sources, the culling time, slated to end by night today, might be extended till tomorrow.             Here is the story on the coochbihar outbreak..tells you how smooth and efficient the human testing really is.. doesn't mention 100's of information collectors or phone call surveys though snips..
