    John Slack

    John Slack John Slack, 50, of Nampa, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 from complications due to Swine Flu. He was a son to Mary Ellen and Don Swengo and John Slack; husband to Terry Slack; father of six, John, Andrew, Ben, Mary, Jessie and Ashley; and brother of Greg and Rob. John lived his life as a faithful servant to Jesus Christ, spending his time on this earth touching the hearts of all those he came across. Whether on the football field, in the church or in the class room, John's warmth and compassion was inspirational to all those who knew him. John's dedication to helping others was the true driving force of his life. As a young man John served his country in the U.S. Army protecting the freedom of others and then became a firefighter helping those in need. It was his love for others and willingness to always help that led him to achieving his goal of becoming an ordained minister. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at the Christian Faith Center, 31 S. Midland Blvd., Nampa. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
