    Ill Man with A(H1N1) Flu Virus Dies in Prievidza Hospital

    Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - A 32-year-old man with A(H1N1) flu virus died in Prievidza hospital (Trencin region) on Wednesday, informed Slovakia's chief hygienist Ivan Rovny on the same day, adding that the man's health was already compromised by a kidney disorder and the problems compounded by pneumonia and breathing disorders.

    According to head of the epidemiological department of the national Public Health Office (UVZ) Jan Mikas, the novel flu virus may have considerably contributed to the death.

    "This was a man with a serious kidney disease," stressed Rovny, adding that the patient had been undergoing dialysis for three years.

    The number of Slovaks that have contracted the A(H1N1) flu virus is currently about 400.

    New influenza virus succumbed to 32-year old man from Prievidza. Authorities on Wednesday officially declared for the first time that the patient died of influenza.

    While Slovakia is still not purchased a new vaccine, beyond the already vaccinated. There were also unexpected adverse effects of the new vaccine.
