    A 27-year-old woman from northeast Kansas has died from the H1N1 virus.

    The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said the woman had underlying health conditions that placed her at greater risk for severe complications of influenza.

    An outbreak of H1N1 Swine Flu was reported in Mexico in April 2009. By the end of May, it had spread across the U.S., with all 50 states reporting cases.
    Her infection was confirmed Oct. 22, and her death was reported to KDHE on Dec. 16.

    Third Death Associated with H1N1 in Lyon County

    The Lyon County Health Department announced it had received notification from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment confirming Lyon County?s third H1N1-related death.

    The victim was a 27-year-old woman with underlying health conditions.

    ?We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family,? Ann Mayo, Lyon County health officer, said. ?Our thoughts are with them.?
