    they ignore the sequences.
They want to grasp the origin of a virus with cameras filming pigs
    and environment and people.

Take samples and send them to laboratories !

Re: [New from GRAIN] Remembering La Gloria: New television documentary traces origins of the H1N1 pandemic back to pig farms in Mexico

The video footage depicting decaying pigs corpses is part of a Swiss television report about the possible but not yet proven link between the epicenter of H1N1 pandemic outbreak in Mexico and large scale pigs industrial farming.

The documentary portraits some circumstantial scenarios behind the first pandemic of XXI century with interviews to people involved in this incident: Mexican Ministry of Health, the Director-General of the OIE, dr Bernard Vallat, a virologists, dr Bernard Griot and local residents of La Gloria.

If the facts reported were linked to pandemic or not, it remains to be established.

I think it is an opportunity for viewers to remember some facts about developing countries economy, their societies and the impact on environment of large-scale industrial farming, biodiversity protection and other well known issues.

100.000 pigs, several burying sites without proper isolation from the soil, dispersion in the air of sewage gases have caused together a very serious issue to local population.

The focus on genome of H1N1 2009 pandemic influenza virus alone cannot account for the entire story: the ''host'' and the environment where the 'hosts' (humans and pigs) live make their role.

In any case, we should continue to investigate and propagate the doubts.

        remember Bernard Matthews ?
It were the sequences alone that resolved the case.

All the other issues about poultry conditions, marketing,
        company statements, food, disinfection, transport,
        slaughtering-methods,company-image,public relations, ...
        were all nonimportant/irrelevant at last.
