Photo: Milenio.comDurango .- Health Services in the State, 690 officially recognize AH1N1 positive cases of influenza in the State of Durango, and five deaths from illness, so it is feared that by the end of the year figures to be reached 2 thousand infected.

The latest death occurred in a patient ISSSTE and recognized by the Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, Ana Maria Fajardo.

The specialist explained that the measures should be taken to address and learn to live with this virus although several, so are simple and easy to apply.

He added that at present the health sector is not going to wait for the outcome of a test to start implementing the treatment and instead as a person present the clinical symptomatic AH1N1 Influenza, immediately be submitted to treatment with antiviral drugs.

Fajardo said that while an epidemic can not be avoided, if hygienic measures can mitigate and everyone already knows.

"You must implement measures for hand washing, using antibacterial gel, the cover mouths, cleaning work areas or common use with chlorinated water," he said.

He stressed that a person who is under treatment by this virus, besides eating the antivirals should remain isolated at least the first 48 hours of treatment, at home to take about three or four days depending on each person's immune response.

He noted that this measure alone will be able to collaborate with the health authority, to control and mitigate the effects of the virus.

Note that at this time the entity became light yellow to orange by the number of positives, but according to statements from the very head of the state agency, Patricia Herrera, later this year, the number of infected could exceed 2 thousand

        Increased 7% respiratory infections: SS
        El Sol de Durango
        November 5, 2009

        Jesus I. Hernandez

Durango, Durango .- 450 thousand have been provided 941 consultations for respiratory infections in all health institutions in Durango this year, representing an increase of more than seven per cent over the same period in previous year, Patricia Herrera Gutierrez, secretary of health in the state.

In this world of hospitality, 256 thousand 583 correspond to the group under 15 while 25 to 44 will have extended to 71 thousand 840 and adults over 65, 18 thousand 362, which are the most notable aspects of this relationship and a comparative look at the same date but in 2008, concentrated on the sum 411 thousand 313 queries reflecting that by 2009, has increased by 7 percent in demand for care in the same period a year to another.

While it is true that at that time was not present nor active virus of human influenza A H1N1, the flow of patients to health units was the expected behavior of each year, most however, it is feasible to imagine that the culture of Consultation demand for this cause, has been most felt in that percentage, most however, the installed capacity of response, has been well attended and solving environment for the recovery of patients.

An important aspect is the fact that what makes the care provided in the network of hospitals and health centers, is that it becomes an integral way, ie with clinical assessment by the physician, the user is given by the necessary and appropriate medication for administration according to protocol and so thus regain the health of the person and the way, avoiding complications that at one time, can bring more consequences for the patient and therefore slower and more difficult to rehabilitate the person.

Fortunately culture in the healthcare of the population, is a reality and the people know the procedure to attend its medical unit in service demand caused by respiratory infection or somehow different, the owner finally said Health Services of Durango.

In Durango, who presented the symptoms of Influenza, will apply the medication immediately without the results of the tests and an examination is three treatments.

          Fri, 06/11/2009 - 02:52

The cost of a test equivalent to three treatments.

Durango .- Health Services of Durango State (SSD), no longer sent to the Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (INDRE) evidence of suspected Influenza A H1N1 and instead apply immediately and direct the treatment of retroviral patients showing symptoms, that because each test has a cost of three treatments.

Durango has a national and state results regarding the epidemiological profile presented by the disease.

At this point it is known that influenza A H1N1, is endemic and that the priority is the immediate treatment.

According to Dr. Ana Maria Fajardo, director of the department of epidemiology at the Health Department in Durango, the cost of a confirmatory test for influenza is equal to 3 treatments, which saves the lives of three people.
"Here the most relevant we have to strengthen among the citizenry is attending a timely manner to the Health Center to receive appropriate treatment, and of course avoid complications such as hospitalization or even death," he said.

He said it is necessary to note that the influenza at this time is already here and will remain, then our first defense is prevention measures and hygiene in all places where a person develops, such as school, home and work.

One must learn to live with the disease as if it were a common disease like the flu, diarrhea or bronchitis, the specialist said, "we know the disease, we know what the clinical picture, we know how we can counter and also how can prevent infection and therefore we must apply ourselves, "he said.

But he made it very clear that this does not mean to be vigilant in the State, hygiene in common areas must be permanent and priority in every home, every office and school.

As is known, the measures to be taken, is hand washing, disinfecting the places where one lives and protect children in the family and try to expose as little as possible so entrenched places.

He noted that cases continue to be counted and registered in a census, to know whether the condition increases, decreases or disappears, but now a person see a doctor or health center with symptoms, after making an appropriate clinical picture is will apply retroviral therapy without having to wait ten days to confirm the case, reiterated the interviewee.

It should be noted that even today are 734 positive cases recorded in the entity and it is likely that a case be filed once received the latest results of the Indre and could be a woman pregnant, he said.

                11 JANUARY 2010

The behavior of the human influenza virus A (H1N1) in recent weeks, has been in a moderate tone in their presence among the population and only 1.261 cases have been reported positive.

Everything indicates that the response of society to the epidemiological picture, very quickly learned to behave in an appropriate and pro-positive and all preventive measures and suggestions issued by the health authority in the state were served efficiently and this has been largely critical part in the result on the impact on the virus and the damage was minor and below the projection that was thought initially.

This was considered Dr. Patricia Hernandez Gutierrez, Secretary of Health in the state, who to provide figures, referred to from the previous month of April 2009, only the cases reported above are met and unfortunately also the death 5 people who died as a cause attributable to this type of human influenza virus and all that in 21 municipalities in the state.

According to the notifying unit in the Health Services, 643 patients were reported positive, the IMSS 557; ISSSTE 19; Hospital Child 39 and only 3 of private hospitals. Of these, the number of female cases are 626 and 635 of the male but all are recovered in full and there were no cases of infection with living together and frequent contact.

However, this entire episode, include positive situations, because by the social behavior is experience in the use of new vaccines initially applied to groups of minors and vulnerable segments and pregnant women, using an initial batch 6.080 vaccines from sole proprietorships, which was subsequently reinforced with another 7 thousand doses and so on have enough antiviral medication to give to the population, are part of the strengths of the collection was done by the Health Services of Durango .

There is a notice issued by the Ministry of Health, Government of the Republic that by next February, the vaccine will be available to the general population and certainly to this expectation, Durango as before, will respond with efficiency and timeliness in regard to immunization scheme and is awaiting only the ways and times to meet this need in the implementation of preventive medicine.

The health secretary in the state, Patricia Herrera, said that a small percentage of patients remain in monitoring health as part of the fence, also continues to apply indiscriminately the seasonal flu vaccine because the goal for the winter season is to reach to the 135 thousand doses throughout the state, however, shows a willingness to acquire more if necessary.

He added: "Fortunately, it was higher than had been previously predicted for seasonal influenza, there we had up to 40 percent of patient flow in the consultation in health centers and hospitals which according to national policy only monitoring makes 10 percent of patients for epidemiological control.

In regard to the human influenza vaccine, is found the application to groups considered high risk as are people with chronic-degenerative diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, not heretofore authorized sale in the private offices.

The state officer stated: "We had no new reported cases of human influenza, much less deaths so far this year, the only death from the cold that we recorded was a man who had alcohol poisoning and that unfortunately fell asleep in a park, in an area where there was no shelter because their families are not asked for it ".

During this winter season have also decreased significantly pneumonia cases due to mothers who take into account and addressing preventive measures that continually promoted through the media
