In recent weeks doubled the number of cases of influenza A/H1N1 infections in Mexico City, going from seven to nine to 17, admitted yesterday the local health secretary, Francisco Osuna, when interviewed after the first Angel Program report.

"There are 17 cases hospitalized in the network of city government. We had seven or nine. So yes there has been an increase. Not significant, not to alarm but to tell people to be careful to follow all of February and throughout March, at least", He said.

Therefore reiterated the call to assist with opportunity for health centers and hospitals. "We have the medicine, we are ready and prepared to cater for everyone. People do not have to wait two or three days to be addressed. The first day is going to be immediately reviewed and does not self-medicate"He said.
He reported that to date have been implemented over half a million vaccinations against this virus, thus maintaining the vaccination campaign in Metro stations and markets. "The call is to get vaccinated. Why we're not careful, we protect ourselves? Given the reality of a likely surge in influenza in the remainder of February and March."

He clarified that it is confirmed that the local deputy of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) Cristian Vargas has influenza A/H1N1. "Studies are underway to confirm the diagnosis, but were vaccinated his wife, his baby and all his family and his staff, to avoid any risk."

Health Secretary announced that next week the Scientific Committee will meet with the head of the Federal District, Marcelo Ebrard, to inform all the actions that have been done on this.
