Two people who were diagnosed with H1N1 influenza died in Banja Luka on Wednesday shortly after being admitted to hospital. The two patients previously underwent abdominal surgery and their overall condition suddenly deteriorated in the post-operative period, the Public Health Institute said in a statement.
Quick laboratory tests confirmed they had been infected with the H1N1 flu virus. Further tests will be conducted to establish with certainty if H1N1 virus was the cause of the two patients? deaths. So far, 13 people have died in Bosnia due to the H1N1 flu.

BELGRADE - Two novooboljela patient virus H1N1, which yesterday were hospitalized, died the same day of the Banja Luka Clinical Center, tell the Institute for Health Protection RS.
"These two patients were initially hospitalized because of abdominal surgical diseases, and their general condition rapidly deteriorated during the postoperative period. Tested the rapid test and the H1N1 virus were positive. Soon after the patients were dead," reads the statement of the Institute for Protection Health of Serbia.
In the third patient, who is the same yesterday admitted to the Clinical Center, rapid test has also confirmed that the ill from H1N1 and is located in the intensive medicine CC Banja Luka, where he was connected to a respirator.
Mirko Stanetić, director of the Clinical Center of Banja Luka, said yesterday that there is reasonable suspicion that two patients died of H1N1, but that is to get "Torlakovog" test can not claim with certainty.
