India reported 59 deaths per thousand influenza A (H1N1)

January 11, 2010, 01:04 New Delhi, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) The death toll in India due to influenza virus A (H1N1) reached 59 per thousand, according to a report issued today by the authorities of Health Eurasian country.
The report also showed that 27 thousand 712 people have contracted the disease since the first case was detected in Indian Territory in May.
The infections have increased in recent weeks with the arrival of winter, especially in the capital city. Of the cases confirmed by laboratory tests, nine thousand 555 correspond to Delhi, which has killed 85 people so far.
The highest mortality rate of exhibits, however, the southwestern state of Maharashtra, with 284 dead and four thousand and 732 infections.
According to data from the Indian Ministry of Health, the total accumulated cases represents 23.6 percent of 117 thousand to 94 people that have been carried out laboratory tests to detect influenza A (H1N1).
According to the World Health Organization, pandemic flu has killed at least 12 thousand 799 deaths in over 200 countries and territories where it has been detected since March.
