    Staff Report

Two Gallatin County residents have been diagnosed with H1N1 influenza, with the diagnoses confirmed by the state public health lab, the Gallatin City-County Health Department said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

The residents, who were not identified and whose towns of residence were not released, are being monitored, but it was unclear whether they had been hospitalized.

Messages seeking comment for this story from Health Department officials were not returned Thursday afternoon.

"The (Department) will continue to monitor for influenza-like illness in Gallatin County," health officer Matt Kelly said in the statement.

Two other cases were confirmed this week in Montana, one each in Madison and Missoula counties, according to the statement.
