The Minister Ana Jorge assured yesterday, Monday, the ministry of Health will continue to work on prevention of influenza A, although the virus has disappeared virtually in the country.
"We're not in a time of flu, but the virus remains and will be quite alive and acting in various populations," argued the minister, in Macedo de Cavaleiros, apart from a visit to the new helicopter that will do INEM medical emergency in northeastern.
For now there is no requirement to change the vaccination and source of the minister's office said the Lusa that anyone can get the vaccine, which is still available, especially for risk groups (elderly and children).
Health officials predict a new peak of influenza A in the autumn, when other viruses are also seasonal assets, and are awaiting guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) to set the strategy at this time.
