the mohp published a new report today it covers a three day period the 9th,10th and 11th of January 2011 it adds 332 new confirmed cases with 12 new deaths being reported for the three day period

122 Deaths from 3546 confirmed cases appears to be a pretty high fatality rate.it also is 43% of last years total fatalities of (281) from 16,373 cases of H1N1 infections but its compared to a greatly reduced number of confirmed cases this year.

Health Ministry: 26 succumb to H1N1 despite plummeting infection rates

Egypt's Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 26 people had died from "complications associated with the H1N1 virus," commonly known as "swine flu,? over the course of the past week, but added that overall infection rates were considerably lower than last year.

The statement noted that a total of 598 cases of H1N1 had been diagnosed in the period from 9 to 15 January.

However, laboratory results cited by the ministry indicated a 73.9-percent decrease in overall swine flu infection rates and a 48.8-percent decrease in H1N1-related mortality rates during the current winter season as compared to the 2009-2010 winter season.

based on these numbers Egypt will have approximately 4,000 confirmed cases Thur the 15th, resulting in just over 52% of (last years total fatalities of 281) 2010/11 death total 143 is based on a much lower confirmed positive case count of approximately 25% of last years total confirmed count.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة وفاة 26 حالة جديدة جراء الإصابة بفيروس الأنفلونزا خلال الأسبوع الماضى، مؤكدة أن 75 % من حالات الوفاة مصابة بأمراض مزمنة، لافتة إلى انخفاض معدل الإصابات بداية من منصف يناير الحالى. Ministry of Health announced the deaths of 26 new cases due to infection with influenza during the last week, confirmed that 75% of infected cases of death from chronic diseases, pointing to a lower rate of injuries from the beginning of equitable January.

ومن جانبه أعلن الدكتور عبد الرحمن شاهين، المتحدث الرسمى باسم وزارة الصحة، أن جهود فرق ترصد نشاط مرض أنفلونزا الخنازير بالوزارة أسفرت عن اكتشاف عدد (598) حالة، مؤكدة لمرض الأنفلونزا AH1N1 خلال الأسبوع الماضى فى الفترة من 9/1/2011 حتى السبت الموافق 15 /1 /2011. For his part, Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, that the efforts of teams to monitor activity of swine flu in the ministry resulted in the discovery of a number (598) case, confirmed to the disease influenza AH1N1 during the last week in the period from 09/01/2011 until Saturday, 01/15/2011.

وتفيد النتائج المعملية لترصد المرض أن هناك انخفاضاً فى معدلات الإصابة بنسبة 73,9 % وانخفاض معدلات الوفاة بنسبة 48,8 % بفيروس أنفلونزا الخنازير، خلال موسم شتاء 2010/2011، بالمقارنة بمعدلات الإصابة والوفاة خلال فترة الجائحة 2009 – 2010 .
