Japan confirms death of 19 foreigners in March 11 quake, tsunami
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan has confirmed the deaths of 19 foreigners in the devastating March 11 quake and tsunami that struck eastern and northeastern Japan, a senior Foreign Ministry official said Monday.
The dead were nationals of China, Canada, South and North Korea, Pakistan, the Philippines, Taiwan and the United States. Japanese police have notified bereaved families and respective diplomatic missions, the official said.....
