More than bullets it is the humble mosquito that now poses a threat to the CRPF personnel engaged in fighting the Maoist insurrectionaries in Saranda forests. Malaria has created much trouble among the people of the State and now, as usual, it is the jawans? lot to bear the brunt of the misery.

More than 70 jawans have been admitted to Jharkhand?s premier hospital Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in the last three days. Meanwhile, a CRPF jawan from Haryana deputed at Saranda, Virendra Kumar Saini (30), died on the way to RIMS. He was under treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital. Saini belonged to the 209th COBRA battalion and succumbed to his ailment while on way from Jamshedpur to Ranchi.
