  • Get your flu jab ? don't suffer the way I have

PREGNANT Enda Bashford nearly died after catching swine flu and her baby had to be delivered early by Caesarean section to save his life.

The 27-year-old mum to three sons, had to be put into a medically-induced coma and placed on a ventilator after Connor was delivered at just 27 weeks weighing 2lb 8oz.

When she finally came round, she had forgotten she had even been pregnant. It was only when husband Rob, 25, wheeled her up to the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit at Medway Maritime Hospital that she was able to celebrate the birth of their third son.

She was admitted to hospital this January with severe sickness, chest and back pains and breathing difficulties after catching swine flu.

Enda, speaking from the family home in Rochester High Street, said: "I suffered really badly with vomiting during my other two pregnancies and I thought it was that. I didn't have a cold and only a tiny cough, but I then started to get chest and back pains and was having difficulty breathing.
