Amid flu outbreak in Oaxaca, the public health sector lacks the rapid testing of influenza AH1N1 in emergency services.
According to the medical staff of IMSS, the tests are being applied only to the staff of the institution, as this point where there have been 13 cases of the virus.
"We were told that the test can only be applied in my family clinic and if I wanted to go on Monday," said a mother who on Saturday January 7 took his daughter to the emergency department of Hospital General de Zona 1 IMSS , for a picture of severe cough, temperature higher than 39 degrees, headache, nasal flow and body aches.
Due to the outbreak of influenza in the state and because their daughter is in the vulnerable age group, women in calling for the rapid test to rule out that the symptoms were related to the virus, but was denied. The explanation offered by the doctor, is that there was no evidence.
On the other hand, Civil Hospital medical staff, Dr. Aurelio Valdivieso, who requested anonymity, said that neither have the rapid testing of influenza. "We have not brought us do not know why."
The risk groups are children aged six to 35 months of age, older than 36 months at risk of infection, including children, adolescents and adults with asthma, lung disease, heart disease, immunodeficiency (HIV), kidney disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Kawasaki, among others, as well as adults 50 and older, and health workers.
Family's mother complained that the information disseminated by the health institutions is different from the reality, because while both the IMSS's Eve as the SSO claims to have a preventive fence, "in practice there."
As referred to by the mother of a family medical emergency, the patient would have to wait 48 hours before starting a treatment for H1N1 influenza, as rapid tests are only performed Monday through Friday in the medical unit familiar.
