    WEEKLY INFECTIOUS DISEASE BULLETIN
    EPIDEMIOLOGICAL WEEK 6 5 - 11 Feb 2012

    24 cases of Salmonellosis, 87 Dengue, 686 HFMD (above warning level), 12 mumps, see link for full list.

    Clinic visit reporting has changed from weekly total to average number per day.

    An average of 3,186 clinic visits per day for ARI (above epidemic threshold), 95 for Acute Conjunctivitis and 519 for Acute Diarrhoea (above epidemic threshold) were recorded.

    Influenza indicators for E-week 6 (5 February - 11 February 2012) are as follows:
    The average daily number of patients seeking treatment in polyclinics for Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) decreased from 3,192 (over 5.5 working days) in E-week 5 to 3,186 (over 5.5 working days) in E-week 6.
    The proportion of cases with Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) among the polyclinic ARI cases was low at 1%.
    The overall prevalence of influenza among ILI samples (n=199) in the community was 57% (preliminary) in the past four weeks. Of all the influenza virus isolates collected in January 2012, influenza B constituted 73%, whilst influenza A(H3N2) and influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 constituted 14% and 12%, respectively.
